Do they need a smartphone?
No. No phone, no tablet, no email address, no account, no password.
Do they have to press anything?
No. Messages play out loud by themselves. If they aren’t in the room, Whispr holds onto it and brings it up the next time they’re around, so nothing gets missed.
Does it really sound like me?
You read a short script into your phone once. After that, messages you send play back in your voice. It isn’t a recording of each message, it’s built from that one sample.
How do they answer?
They talk. Whispr picks it up and sends it to you.
Can more than one of us send messages?
Yes. Add whoever they want to hear from, each with their own voice.
Do I need to install anything?
Not to send messages. You text their Whispr number from the messages app already on your phone, the same way you text anyone. The free Whispr family app is only for setup: joining their list, recording your voice and agreeing to receive texts.
